Inspired by my travelers in Ecuador. Hummingbirds, also known as colibris in Spanish, are one of the most fascinating and dreamlike birds on the planet. They are the smallest migrating bird and they don’t migrate in flocks like other species, and they typically travel alone for up to 500 miles (800 km) at a time. They are also the only bird that can fly backwards.
As beautiful as the hummingbird is, to some indigenous people of Central and South America, the hummingbird has a connection to the afterlife. In many cultures, when someone sees a hummingbird, it is often seen as a sign from heaven. If you see a hummingbird near or after someone has passed away, it may be interpreted as a sign from the deceased that they are okay. Hummingbirds can also appear in dreams to those who are grieving or mourning, offering comfort and hope for the future.
This is an open edition print of ”Clairvoyant Flight" created in 2021. These prints are created with William Turner 310 gsm/ 100% cotton paper and are very high quality. "Open Edition" means that this print will be created forever but is not signed and numbered.
The original was created in 2021 on 9x12" Cold Pressed Archers Watercolor Paper using Sennelier watercolor.
