“This mostly dotted piece of art was inspired by my ability to understand patience as being not only a virtue but a strength in today's world. When I started this piece back in May of 2023, I intentionally wanted this piece to be the hardest working and longest time consuming piece that I have done to present day. On October 4 of 2023 I had officially completed “The Essence of Time.” Putting in hours of work and thousands of dots into this piece. The turtle represents patience, longevity and wisdom over time. Interestingly enough, Indigenous people from around the world had used the turtle’s shell as a lunar calendar for centuries. There are 13 moon cycles in a year and 27 to 29 days per cycle. All of which are represented by the patterns of the turtle’s shell. In fact, in this piece you can count that there are 28 patterns on the outside of the turtle’s shell representing the days of the month and 13 patterns on the inside of the shell representing the 13 lunar cycles.”
This is a one of a kind numbered and signed limited edition 16” x 20” print. Only 25 copies were made. This print come with a certification of Authenticity.
The original was created on October 2023 on 16x20" Cold Pressed Watercolor Paper using Ink.
